Senator Mark Johnson, Doing Good by Doing Right

I've known Mark Johnson for years and never cease to be impressed with his commitment to conservative ideals and helping people.

I recall when my co-blogger and candidate for House Representative in District 55, Chris Corbitt, and I were discussing his then-possible, now-actual, run for office; we evaluated how Chris could best serve the people of the Conway area.  One possibility was to run for the seat currently held by conservative Jason Rapert as he runs for Lieutenant Governor.  We knew that it was imperative for Arkansas that the Senate seat from the area (and others) be held by a true conservative.

When redistricting was done, we knew that this important concern was fully addressed by Mark Johnson's candidacy for the seat that now covers the area.  Seeking office shouldn't be about ego or self aggrandizement but, rather, serving the people.  And the great folks of new Senate District 17 could find no greater individual to perform this function than Senator Mark Johnson had they each a dedicated spotlight and combine harvester.

Don't take my word for it.  Who am I, after all?  Look at Mark's voting record, which you can see on Conduit News' Scorecard and elsewhere.  Mark is a solid conservative.  And look at all candidates' records--Mark's opponent and others.  It's not hard to determine who's a true conservative.  Ask whether the candidate voted:  against increasing your taxes or for further burdening you, for smaller government or for increasing officiousness, in favor of freedom or for restricting your G-d given rights, and for or against the sanctity of life itself.  The more a candidate departs from the basic conservative principles reflected in the affirmative side of these issues, the less he is in fact a conservative--campaign-season, self-serving claims to the contrary notwithstanding.

I've done the research, and I know the answers.  That's why I'm all in for Mark Johnson.
